Charles "Charlie" Jefferson Jones was born December 9, 1915 and went home to be with the Lord on July 27, 2017, joining Gertrude "Peachy," his wife of 74 years and the love of his life, and his son Mike. He was 101. Charlie was born to Verna and George Jones in Verona, California. He married his high school sweetheart, Gertrude Elizabeth Miller, on April 12, 1936. Charlie loved motorcycles, particularly Harley Davidson's. One of his favorite pictures is of him and Gert on a 1933 Harley. He served in the National Guard Reserves. He was a Superintendent of Training for Standard Stations until he decided he wanted a greater challenge so they purchased and he successfully operated two of his own Standard Stations. He then became a State Farm Agent as his family grew to five children. Gert worked with him as the office manager and they both retired at age 70. Charlie enjoyed reading the Bible, hunting, fishing, anything about cars and motorcycles, being at the family cabin and spending time with his family. He is survived by four children - Charlene, Charles (Shary), Carolyn, Dennis (Janet), Val (daughter-in-law); seven grandchildren - Joni, Stacy (Max), Marla (Ray), Shannon (John), Reid (Otheta), Kim (Joe) and Gregg (Melissa); and 13 great- grandchildren - Abby, Zach, Adam, Ethan, Alexis, Aubrey, Tyler, Hannah, Raymie, Cailyn, Alora, Maddie, and Ella; and his cat Curtis, and so many friends. One of his favorite sayings was, "God has been good to me." Charlie always had a big smile and greeting for everyone. He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. TOODLE!
